KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 6 — The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) today started an investigation into the claim that Najib paid RM90 million to PAS leaders to support UMNO party.

MACC in a statement today said the Commission will start investigating the claim now after having received a report from the police regarding the allegation today.

“A member of the public lodged a police report regarding the allegation yesterday.

“The police has forwarded the report to us to proceed with the next course of action,” MACC said in a statement

The investigation started after The Pas President agreed to settle his defamation sue against Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown who published an article alleging that Pas leader had received 90mil from Najib Razak.

The withdrawal raised a lot of doubt and suspecions among the public and politicians agains the Pas President Hadi.

According to the national news agency Bernama, the probe is being conducted in accordance with the MACC Act 2009 and the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001.

Earlier this week, the Former Prime Minister Najib said on his Facebook page that MACC would have traced the 90mil transfer, but they found nothing, as they have been checking all his bank accounts and transactions throughly.
