Malaysia Former Prime Minister wife Rosmah and her aide Rizal charged for corruptions and bribes

KUALA LUMPUR: Wife of former Prime Minister, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor pleaded not guilty at the Sessions Court here today for two counts of corruption under Section 16 (a)(A) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009.

Rosmah was charged with soliciting RM187.5million through her former aide Datuk Rizal Mansor and receiving RM1.5million in bribe relating to the RM1.25billion solar hybrid project for rural schools in Sarawak.

Wearing a green and blue baju kurung with a matching shawl, Rosmah was accompanied by her husband Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak who arrived at 2.06pm at the Court on Thursday.  

Najib was holding Rosmah’s hand as they walked to the Sessions Court.

Sessions Court judge Azman Ahmad allowed bail at RM1million in one surety on Thursday (Nov 15).

Rosmah was also allowed to pay bail in two instalments with RM500,000 to be paid today and the balance be paid in seven days.

 Earlier on Oct. 4, Rosmah was charged with 17 counts of money laundering involving RM7million.

Meanwhile, Rosmah’s former aide, Datuk Rizal Mansor has pleaded not guilty to four charges of corruption at the Sessions Court here.  

Rizal had allegedly solicited RM212.5million and received bribes amounting to RM5.5million on behalf of Rosmah and himself in assisting Jepak Holdings Sdn. Bhd. to obtain the project to supply diesel, repair generators, and provide solar hybrid systems to 369 rural schools in Sarawak.  

The first and second charges were for soliciting RM187.5million from Jepak Holdings Managing Director Saidi Abang Samsudin on behalf of Rosmah and RM25million for himself as an inducement in ensuring that the company received the project.

The third and court charges were for corruptly receiving RM5million on behalf of Rosmah and RM500,000 for himself. –Malaysia World News
