Former PM Najib Razak to be charged soon over 1MDB corruption claims

Malaysia Former Prime Minister Najib Razak is going to be investigated and charged soon over graft claims linked to debt-laden state fund 1MDB.

Speaking to The Wall Street Journal CEO Council Meeting in Tokyo today, Dr Mahathir, said: “We are slowly getting to the bottom of things and many of our senior officers are volunteering information accompanied, of course, by documents.

“We think that within a short while we will have a case against him, we will be able to charge him, Dr Mahathir said

He also hinted that he is now selecting trusted people to investigate Najib.

The new PM Dr Mahathit added, he is facing the problem of “trying to trust people to investigate him”.

Immediately after winning the general election and sworn in, Dr Mahathir instructed the police to bar Najib from travelling overseas.

Najib and his wife look like they are under house arrest right now.
