Pakatan Harapan has carefully chosen Tun Dr Mahathir to be the Prime Minister of Malaysia if the pact wins the coming general election (GE14), for many considerable reasons.

According to the political analyst Dr Azmi, Dr Mahathir has been chosen for this post because he seems to be very influential, popular, powerful, and has a lot of experience in politics than any other candidate among the opposition leaders.

“The opposition party lacks candidates who are as influential and well- experienced as Dr Mahathir,” Azmi told Malaysia World News.

“By right, Dr Wan Azizah or Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali should be made the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

“By choosing Dr.Mahathir as the Prime Minister designer, Pakatan leaders showed that they have no confidence in Wan Azizah or other candidates to unseat the ruling party, Barisan Nasional,” he added.

When asked, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said on Friday that Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has the potential to be the next prime minister if Pakatan Harapan wins the 14th general election, he was not chosen by the Pakatan leadership.

Meanwhile, Azmin said he was ready to offer his Gombak parliamentary seat to Mahathir.

“Let’s be united for the sake of the rakyat,” the PKR deputy president said in a tweet last night.

The Pakatan chairman, Dr Mahathir also claimed he did not want to become the prime minister but he was asked to accept the role.

“Everyone is entitled to an opinion but I have to respect those who supported and believed in me,” he said in response to criticism of his candidacy. @Malaysia World News
