Putrajaya – Acronis, an international hybrid cloud data protection company based in Singapore, has announced its sponsorship and long-term partnership agreement signed with Scuderia Toro Rosso Red Bull Formula 1 Team, while releasing its complete, fast, user friendly and safe Acronis Access Advanced 8.0, here at Marriot Hotel, in conjunction with Malaysia Grand Prix this weekend.
Talking to the media, Scuderia Toro Rosso Formula 1 Team expressed their need for Acronis Access Advanced to share confidential telemetry data and R&D documents between the factory, track side engineers and subcontractors.
“With Acronis Access Advanced, we’re in full control of our data. We can track the information path and even remote-wipe a laptop, tablet or mobile device if it is lost or stolen to prevent a competitor from accessing the data. Our plan is to share sensitive data that way,” said Raffaele Boschetti, Scuderia Toro Rosso Head of IT.
The new partnership expands the presence of Acronis in automotive and manufacturing environments that require high reliability and performance. Today, Acronis’ products are extensively used by racing teams, and automotive industry with 30% of new enterprise customers originate from the automotive field.
Presented at the event was the Spaniard Red Bull F1 driver Carlos Sainz the winner of Formula BMW Europe Rookie Cup 2010 and Formula Renault 3.5 World Series title in 2014.
Also present was the winner of 2016 GP2 series in dramatic fashion, the Frenchman F1 driver, Pierre Gasly.
Both drivers are heating Kuala Lumpur Sepang International Circuit this weekend at Malaysian Grand Prix.
Answering a question from the floor, Carlos Sainz said “Malaysia is a special track” for me to “enjoy” and have a “good memory”.
Pierre Gasly is very excited to start his Formula 1 debut in Malaysia. He said, starting his first Formula One race this weekend is just “like a dream come true”.
