The Malaysian Sabahan Worrior, Muhammad Noor Hisyam Samsudin is ready to fight against Indonesia Jeremy Meciaz for his title at the world’s most exciting martial arts action, ONE Championship `Total Victory` in Jakarta on Sept 16.
“Fighting in Indonesia is like a homecoming for me. My mother is from Indonesia and it’s really my second home, so I am truly excited and honoured to be fighting there,” he said.
It will be another exciting night of martial arts contests between athletes from around the globe. One of other exciting highlights of the event will be the Filipino superstar, Geje `the Gravity` Eustaquio who will meet former ONE Flyweight World Champion, Kairat `The Kazakh” Akhmetov.
The Sabahan warrior, Muhammad Noor Hisyam Samsudin made his professional boxing debut earlier this year when he won the World Boxing Federation (WBF) Asia Pacific light heavyweight title by defeating one of Singapore’s best boxers at the Singapore Fighting Championship. He was the first ever Malaysian to carry such title.
“Training is very crucial. Always be prepared. When an opportunity comes, grab it,” he says.
He also mentioned that continuous training sessions with Borneo Tribal Squad (BTS) is one of the main reasons behind his recent victory.
“A training is a training regardless there is a fight or not, be always prepared,” he added
Hisyam Samsudin, known as ‘Zephyrus’, was born in Brumas, a settlement deep in the jungles of Sabah, but moved to a small city called Tawau when he was a child.
After finishing school, he moved to Kota Kinabalu in 2007 and began training in MMA under famed coach AJ Lias Mansor.
Competing in many local and state level amateur boxing tournaments, the 27-year-old Sabahan Hisyam has won several medals along the way.
He has competed in both State Boxing and State Muay Thai. He won his Pro-Muay Thai debut fight at the Dihar Boxx D1 event in Kota Kinabalu in 2014, and his Pro-MMA debut in Full Metal Dojo in 2014 in Bangkok, Thailand.
In 2015, Hisyam won his Pro-Silat debut at the inaugural OneSilat event where he was the co-main event, a statement says.
He currently trains at Borneo Tribal Squad alongside ONE Championship superstar Ann Osman.
Samsudin holds one loss and one win heading into his first ONE Championship appearance.
He debuted in ONE Championship last year on 3rd September at ONE Championship `Unbreakable Warriors` against fellow Malaysian `Jungle Cat` Muhammad Aiman. But he made his debut with a loss to the compatriot Aiman.
He is looking to come back stronger this time and prove that he is one of the martial arts stars to watch out for.
Asked about his expectation in the upcoming ONE `TOTAL VICTORY` happening in Jakarta this coming September 16, he said, “I think it’s going to be a great fight. I can’t share my game plan yet but I promise to give a good fight.” – Malaysia World News
