Military parade of high respect to Sultan Muhammad V

Sultan Muhammad V accompanied by Hishammuddin at Dataran Panglima Tentera Darat, Kem Perdana, Sungai Besi today.

KUALA LUMPUR, 6 May  – The coronation of His Majesty, Yang di-Pertuan Agong XV, Sultan Muhammad V, as Commander-in-Chief of the Malaysian Armed Forces was celebrated in a military parade of high respect to His Majesty at Dataran Panglima Tentera Darat, Kem Perdana, Sungai Besi here today.

During his speech, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V  urged the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) to continue pledging their highest loyalty to protect the country from any threat, following the legacy inherited from the past warriors who had sacrificed their lives for this nation.

“I urge ATM personnel to elevate the armed forces to a higher level of excellence.

To be always respected, ATM should continue to make all efforts to empower its skills and capabilities,” he said at the parade.

The parade also witnessed the participation of Pennants of His Majesty, Yang di-Pertuan Agong, that includes Pennants of The Royal Malay Regiment, Royal Ranger Regiment and Royal Armoured Corps or Kor Armor Diraja (KAD), Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) and Pennants of Malaysian Air Force that involved five main contingents that include three from Malaysian Army that was made up of Royal Malay Regiment, Royal Ranger Regiment, and Royal Armoured Corps and together with each one contingent from Royal Malaysian Navy and Royal Malaysian Air Force.

The  parade was participated by 26 officers and 588 staff of various ranks and headed by Lieutenant Colonel Johan Effendi Mohd. Shalleh, Commanding Officer of the First Batallion of the Royal Malay Regiment.

The military parade was also participated by part of the Malaysian Armed Forces’ assets namely the warrior tanks/8×8 Gempita/ RPZ Condo Twin GPMG/Adnan Armoured Car/AV4 “Flaming Centipede”/Cannon 155MM GS MK 111 and carriers of weapons GK MK 1 Gutling Gun.

Meanwhile, the 21 honour shots were launched by 41 Battery Royal Artillery Regiment headed by Major Mohd. Asri Che Wil while the overall parade was assisted by a combination of bands from Malaysian Army, Royal Malaysian Navy and Malaysian Air Force under the command of Captain Mohd. Nor Azizan Yahaya.

Eight aircrafts making a cross respect formation was the highlight of the event. It was led by the EC725 Helicopter carrying Malaysian flag, Nuri Helicopter carrying the flag of Malaysian Armed Forces and Agusta 109 Helicopter carrying Malaysian Army flag, Superlynx Helicopter carrying the Royal Malaysian Navy flag accompanied by two Agusta 109 Helicopters and two Fennex Helicopters.

The cross respect formation was headed by Major Mohd. Husni Mohd Tarmizi from Malaysian Air Force from Number 10 SKN.

Present at the ceremony were Minister of Defence, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, Deputy Minister, Datuk Seri Mohd. Johari Baharom, Secretary General, Datuk Seri Abdul Rahim Mohamad Radzi,  Chief of Defence Force Malaysian Armed Forces, General Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor, Chief of Army, General Datuk Seri Zulkiple Kassim, Chief of Royal Malaysian Navy, Admiral Tan Sri Ahmad Kamarulzaman Ahmad Badaruddin and Acting Chief of Malaysian Air Force, Lieutenant General Datuk Seri Ackbal Abdul Samad. Also present were their spouses.
