PUTRAJAYA: Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that the government had agreed to allow travelling for tourism.
However, he said, travelling for tourism is allowed only between states under the recovery movement control order, and those wanting to go for holiday must use the services of tour agencies registered under the Tourism, Culture and Arts Ministry and use transportation provided by them.
“Going on holidays in private vehicles is not allowed and tour agencies will need to get approval from police for cross-border travel.
“Those travelling must go directly to the destination, which is at another recovery MCO destination. A stop at a conditional MCO state is not allowed, ’’ he said in his media briefing yesterday.
“The targeted tourism bubble for domestic tourism includes Langkawi. Those in recovery MCO states can travel to Langkawi, ” he added.
