Muhyiddin visits Saudi Arabia and UAE to explore markets for palm oil exports to the Middle East and African regions

MECCA: Muhyiddin’s four-day official visit to Saudi Arabia and the UAE is aimed at strengthening bilateral ties and exploring new cooperation with both countries.

 “Markets for palm oil exports to Saudi Arabia and to the Middle East and African regions would be explored,” said the Minister of Foreign Affairs Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his wife Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman have performed the umrah.

Muhyiddin is accompanied by the Foreign Minister and senior officials from the Prime Minister’s Office and Foreign Ministry.

In a statement, Wisma Putra said the Malaysian delegation had to travel via a special aircraft due to strict Covid-19 preventive standard operating procedure agreed upon by the Health Ministry, the National Security Council, as well as the Health Ministry of Saudi Arabia and the Health and Prevention Ministry of the UAE.

“Just finished my video conference with the Minister of Energy of the Royal of Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud earlier – discussing existing and future cooperation including expanding cooperation in more progressive sectors capable of strengthening existing ties Familiarity between Malaysia and Saudi Arabia,” said Hishammuddin on a post in his facebook on 5 March 2021.
