KUALA LUMPUR MAR.7: The Malaysian United Indigeneous Party (BERSATU) appreciates Sabah UMNO’s stand to continue its cooperation with the party through Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) in line with its struggle to build a strong unity for the political stability in Sabah.
BERSATU Vice-President, Datuk Seri Dr. Ronald Kiandee said, the results of the past Sabah State Election had shown the people’s wish to see a strong unity for the sake of political stability.
“The country needs a strong political stability to handle bigger issues including the economy and the national development.
“The people hope to see the political approach taken will promise the future political stability in the country,” said Dr. Ronald who is also the Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry in a statement here today.
In another development, the Chairman of Sabah UMNO Communication Division, Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin as reported by Astro Awani said, Sabah UMNO has an “autonomy power” and will continue to cooperate with BERSATU and other parties through GRS.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister of Sabah who is also Head of Sabah BERSATU Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor is with the opinion that the strong cooperation between BERSATU and Sabah UMNO is not shaken by the current political scenario in the Peninsula.
Ronald said, the Sabah UMNO’s stand should be translated as building political ideas at the national level that could promise a political stability in the coming General Election.
“The past Sabah General Election should be taken as a lesson that the people chose a new alignment that could promise national political stability as a whole,” said Dr. Ronald.
He said, the unity between parties in Perikatan Nasional (PN) should be the basis for the approach and new political ideas in the country. –Malaysia World News
