KUALA LUMPUR JULY 27: The Muslims are free to visit their relatives and friends during Aidiladha that falls on July 31 as there is no restriction in cross-border travel.
Security and Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the people are free to go back to their “kampong” or hometown but everybody has to adhere to the standard operating procedure (SOP) including only 20 guests are allowed to be present in a house at any one time.
Ismail said, for the “ibadah korban” the government has decided to allow only 10 animals (sheep or cows) to be slaughtered at the mosque or “surau” including at the location of the “korban” that has been approved by the District Religious Office and the local authorities.
“Only 20 people are allowed to be present for every one animal at the “ibadah korban” location and only packed food is permitted to be given to those present.
“The government encourages the “ibadah korban” to be done at the slaughterhouse under the Veterinary Services Department (28 units) and the licensed private ruminant slaughterhouse (31 units),” said Ismail at the press conference held at the Parliament here today.
The Minister added the “ibadah korban” at the mosque and “surau” could be done for four days including on the first day of Aidiladha after the “sunat prayers” and three “Tasyrik” days.
Since Aidiladha falls on Friday, said Ismail, it is encouraged for “ibadah korban” to be carried out on the following three days.
However, Ismail added the SOP is to be applied in the Federal Territories but could be used by the State Religious Council as a reference.
In another development, Sarawak has taken a proactive action to limit the movement between zones effective from August 1 until August 14 in its effort to stop the transmission of COVID-19
The places involved include zone 1 consisting of Kuching Division, Serian, and Samarahan (yellow/red zones) while zone 2 includes Seri Aman Division, Betong, Sarikei, Kapit, Mukah, Bintulu, Miri and Limbang (green zone)
“Any individual who wishes to travel inter-zones have to get the permission from the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) while movement within the zone is permitted,” said Ismail
Meanwhile from August 1 till August 14, the flight frequencies will be reduced from the Peninsular, Sabah and Labuan to Sarawak. –Malaysia World News
