PUTRAJAYA OGOS 7: Malaysia Airlines Berhad (MAB) is offering a 20% discount for domestic flights starting July 10 until November 30, 2020 to school teachers and lecturers from the public and private institutes of higher education.
Security and Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, the booking of tickets will start from July 9 until August 10 and could be obtained via online by inserting the “promo card” that will be announced by the Ministry of Education (KPM) and the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT).
Ismail said, the 20% discount is also offered to students via MH Explorer Programme that could be obtained by being a member of MH Explorer that could be accessed via the official website of Malaysia Airlines.
“The discounts will last until November 30, 2020 or while the membership of MH Explorer is still valid following the terms and conditions,” Ismail said in a press conference held here today.
Ismail added, the MAB Chief Executive Officer, Izham Ismail had met him to discuss about the flight fares and the result of the meeting was the promotional and the discount tickets.
Prior to that he said, the Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM) had presented the special flight tickets to be offered to teachers, lecturers and students to the Special Ministers’ Meeting on the Implementation of Movement Control Order (MCO) and MAB had returned with the immediate actions.
In another development Ismail said, there is no home quarantine for Malaysians returning to Sabah and Sarawak since the border or state travel restrictions had been lifted.
“The only possibility that will happen at the airports is that one or two passengers will be screened and do swab tests at random but on the whole there is no more home quarantine for the Malaysians travelling within Malaysia,” he reiterated.
Ismail said at the moment, no major gathering will be held in conjunction with the Independence Day on August 31 as it involves thousands of people where social distancing is difficult to adhere.
However he said, the details and the standard operating procedure (SOP) of any event held to celebrate Independence Day will be presented by the Minister of Communications and Multimedia. –Malaysia World News
