CHINI, July 4: Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Mohd Sharim Md Zain is highly expected to win the Chini state by-election today.
He has casted his vote this morning at Kelas Al-Quran dan Fardu Ain (KAFA) Felda Chini 3 polling centre.
Malaysia World News reporter covering from Chini today have had many interviews with the residents.
Almost 90% of the poeple here are strong, young supporters of Barisan Nasional (BN).
” Of course BN will win, and win big, ” Mohd Saiful Nizam , 41, confidently told MWN when asked about his opinon on the by election.
“Sharim will help young generation here by providing them jobs…And we are confident he can bring changes to Chini, ” he added.

The casting of votes at all polling stations ended at.5.30pm, and the result will be announced tonight.
About 21,000 people registered voters have casted their ballots today in Chini, Pahang. Almost 90% of them are Malays.

Mohd Sharim Md Zain from BN is contesting against Tengku Zainul Hisham Tengku Hussin and Mohd Shukri Mohd Ramli, who are contesting as independents. While Pakatan Harapan had also decided not to field a candidate.
The post became vacant following the death of the incumbent, BN’s Datuk Seri Abu Bakar Harun, 60, of a heart attack on May 6.
