PETALING JAYA: Former Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad has admitted today that he wanted Warisan president Shafie Apdal to be the next prime minister of Malaysia.
He said not only he, but many lawmakers and supporters have agreed to choose Shafie.
He also urges the grassroots to give support to Shafie.
“Because I am naming him, I hope the grassroots will accept Shafie’s candidacy.
” If I am no longer around, we want someone to carry on our fight.
“That is why we ask to support Shafie,” he said in a recorded video that was taken at a meeting with PPBM grassroots last night.
