PUTRAJAYA: There are 295 positive COVID-19 active cases in the hospital following 10 patients have been discharged bringing the accumulative total to 8,156 or 95.15%
The COVID-19 pandemic situation has improved and becoming better each day where only three patients have been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) on June 21 (Sunday) and no patient needs respiratory aid.
The Ministry of Health in a statement said, there are 16 new cases with three being infected overseas while 13 are local transmissions involving nine affecting foreigners and four Malaysians. The new cases have brought the accumulative total to 8,572 cases.
The four Malaysians that are detected with COVID-19 include two close contacts related to case 8,535 from Kidurong cluster, one case from Melaka involving an accused person at Bandar Hilir and one case involving a pre-surgery patient at Sultanah Aminah Hospital Johor.
Meanwhile the nine new cases that involve foreigners include two close contacts related to case 8,513 from the cleaning company cluster, six cases from the Pedas cluster and one case detected from a screen test conducted at the temporary detention centre in Tawau before the illegal immigrant is sent back to Indonesia.
“There is no death case recorded bringing the death toll of 121 remains,” said the statement.
The statement added, the confirmed COVID-19 cases recorded include 4,358 patients under investigation (PUI)/close contacts, 3,375 from the Sri Petaling cluster, 233 under surveillance and 606 at quarantine centres.-Malaysia World News
