PUTRAJAYA JUNE 12: A customer has the right to request for the swab test certificate from a barber who is a foreigner before he starts his service to ensure that he is free from COVID-19 infection.
Security and Senior Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said, the customer could make a police report if the barber fails to show the document that says he is free from COVID-19 which has been certified by the health clinic.
Ismail said, all foreign workers have to undergo swab tests and they could only start work if the results are negative.
“The customers could assist the government by lodging police reports if they found that foreign workers did not do swab test before they resume their work,” he said at the media conference held here today.
Ismail said that to a question of whether a customer has the right to ask the barber or any foreign worker whether he possesses a document to certify that he is free from COVID-19.
The Senior Minister added, if a barber is detected with positive COVID-19, the shop will be asked to close down and all the workers will be screened besides tracing their close contacts.
Ismail said that to an issue brought up by the media that a barber in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur was reported to have been detected with positive COVID-19.
On another development, Ismail said, all visitors at the rest and recreation places (R&R) will have to record their names, phone numbers, and body temperature via MySejahtera apps or manually written in the logbook.
“For the Muslims who wish to perform their prayers at the “surau” in the R&R areas, they will have to adhere to the social distancing. They will have to bring with them the necessaries like the praying mats and the “telekung” for the females and it should not be shared with others,” he reiterated.
Meanwhile, the children’s playgrounds are closed while the food stalls at the R&R will be opened until 12 midnight.
Ismail said many people are expected to go back to their home towns’ starting from today until Sunday following the announcement of inter-state travel is permitted under the Recovery Movement Control Order effective from June 10 until August 31.
He advised the people to adhere to the standard operating procedure (SOP) while at the R&R and to keep up with good discipline when they reached the “kampung”. –Malaysia World News
