
KUALA LUMPUR: Invito Hotel and Residence has today announced that it will cease all operations by June after suffering great financial loss due to the impact of coronavirus outbreak and the Movement Control Order (MCO).
The hotel management also announced the retrenchment of several employees.
Invito is one of the biggest hotels in Malaysia, comprises 240 studio and apartment rooms.
“With the Covid-19 pandemic continuing to affect the world, the management has come to a very difficult decision to cease operations of Invito Hotel and Residence with effect from June 1.
“With the closure of the hotel, a retrenchment exercise will be in place.
“Associates will receive their final dues. Calculations for your final dues will be provided to you individually in writing.
“We urge you to apply for the `Elaun Mencari Pekerjaan’ claim from the Employee Insurance System through the Social Security Organisation (PERKESO) and we can assist you to do this, if required,” the hotel’s general manager Tony Ho said in a memo to his employees.
