WASHINGTON: A handcuffed black man died Monday after he was pinned down by a white police officer who pressed his knee on his neck.
The video of the incident that was filmed by the passersby went viral on social media and sparked a furor in the US.
Hundreds of people took to the street today and protested the police cruel treatment of the blacks in America.
Mayor Jacob Frey called the incident “wrong on every level.”
The policeman who knelt on the neck of the deceased George Floyd and 3 other police officers who were with him have been fired from their job.
“Your knee in my neck. I can’t breathe… Mama. Mama,” Floyd pleaded.
However, the policeman kept pressing his knee into Floyd`s neck, the recorded video shows.
After the suspect was motionless, the policemen took him to hospital where he was later declared dead.
