PAS urges the government to immediately ban alcohol sales in the country

KUALA LUMPUR: PAS suggests the government should immediately ban the sales of beers, wine and all alcoholic beverages inorder to prevent drunk driving that is one of the causes of many fatal accidents in Malaysia.

Pas Information chief Kamaruzaman Mohamad said fatal accident cases involving drunk drivers had become so rampant recently.

“Therefore, PAS suggests to the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to immediately suspend all productions, businesses, and sales of all kinds of alcohols.

“Accidents caused by drunk drivers should not be viewd lightly, ” he said in a statement here today.

PAS also urged the local authorities to revoke all sales licences of alcoholic beverages which are being sold openly everywhere in Malaysia.

Pas said the government should not be weak and put people’ s life as a priority.
