KUALA LUMPUR APRIL 6: A total of 120,615 officers and staffs in service besides 200,000 veterans of the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) will be receiving the Special Aidilfitri Financial Aid of RM500 and RM250 respectively as announced by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail SabriYaakob onTuesday.
Senior Minister of Defence (MINDEF), Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein said, the Cabinet Meeting today has confirmed that the Special Adilfitri Financial Aid include the officers, military staffs and MAF veterans.
“For MAF veterans who have not registered with the Veteran Affairs Department (JHEV), they are required to do so and subsequently get the benefits from the financial aid.
“The Ministry of Defence believes the financial aid will in a way help the armed forces and the MAF veterans to make preparations before 1st Syawal.
“On behalf of the MINDEF staffs and MAF, I record my highest appreciation and thanked the Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and the Cabinet to include the armed forces and the MAF veterans in giving the Special Aidilfitri Financial Aids and all other assistances before this,” Hishammuddin said in a statement here Wednesday.
Hishammuddin added, this is not only a reflection of the government’s concerns on the welfare of the MAF family but also highlights the undivided appreciation towards the sacrifices of the armed forces and the MAF veterans towards the country. –Malaysia World News
