PUTRAJAYA:  The Ministry of Communications and Multimedia has announced that at least 12 million users will be able to access the 5G mobile network services by end of 2022.

Caretaker Minister, Tan Sri Annuar Musa said, this is made possible following five telcos have signed the reference access agreement (ROA) with Digital Nasional Bhd. (DNB) for the network to be implemented.

“The five companies that have signed the agreement as the deadline is on 31st Oct.2022 includes Telecom Malaysia Bhd, Celcom Networks  Sdn. Bhd, Telecommunications Sdn.Bhd, U Mobile Sdn. Bhd and YTL Communications.

“However only one company that is Maxis has not signed the access agreement,” Annuar said in a press conference today.

Annuar said, with the agreement, the companies are now able to fix the bundle or retail prices from DNB and then offer the services to the public.

Annuar also stressed that the 5G services could only be accessed if users’ phones have the network capabilities. –Malaysia World News
