11 additional economic activities in Phase 2 states in NRP, report to the ministry if employers do not comply with SOP –PM Muhyiddin

PUTRAJAYA AUG.15: The government has allowed an additional 11 economic activities in Phase 2 states of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) apart from 11activities that have been permitted to reconvene in Phase 1 starting 16th August 2021.

Prime Minister, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin when announcing it today said, the economic activities include photography product and services shop; used products shop; flower and nursery shop; handcraft and souvenir shop; antique shop; games’ equipment shop; carpet shop; creative content and creative industry equipment; outdoor equipment shop (including tents’ equipment, fishing and others); cosmetic shop, skin care and perfumes; tobacco shop (including vape and electronic cigarette).

Muhyiddin said, the business owners in the list should ensure all customers entering the premises should show the digital COVID-19 vaccination certificate to prove they have a complete vaccination doses.

“The government has also agreed to allow non-essential activities in construction, building, mining and quarrying sectors to re-operate effective 16th Aug. 2021 in Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 3 of NRP.

“However, the operation capacity depends on the workers’ rate of complete vaccination with 80% – 100% (100% operation); 60%-79% (80% operation); 40%-59% (60% operation),” Muhyiddin said in a statement here today.

The Prime Minister reminds all employers to comply with the terms and conditions that have been fixed by the government before starting their operations to ensure the safety of workers and the work places.

“Subsequently, the employers should utilise the pay subsidy initiative provided by the government to ensure every worker’s salary is paid.

“For all the workers, report to the Ministry of Health at cprc@moh.gov.my or Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) aduan.sop@moha@gov.my or Ministry of Human Resources via Working For Workers (WFW) if the employer does not adhere to the SOP.

The prime minister added, from 26th July until 10th Aug.2021, more than 900 premises have been instructed to close down for failing to adhere to the SOP. This is a prove that the government is very strict towards any party that do not comply with the procedure. Thanks to the people and the workers who have lodged a report and this has made the enforcement implementation much easier.

Meanwhile, states in Phase 1 of NRP are also permitted to utilise the public recreational parks for recreations effective 16th Aug.2021 but only limited to individual activities such as jogging, cycling and physical exercises in line with the sports and recreational activities’ SOP.

Muhyiddin added, the government is planning to make Pulau Langkawi as the pilot project for travel bubble destination. This plan is very important to mobilise the tourism activities after having affected more than a year.

“The Ministry of Health and experts have proposed to the government that the plan could be implemented only when the complete dose rate of the people in Pulau Langkawi has reached at least 80 per cent of the whole population.

“The group that is allowed to travel to Pulau Langkawi is limited to individuals who have completed their two dose vaccinations,” Muhyiddin said.-Malaysia World News
