SHAH ALAM: Ten people were killed in an aircraft crash in Elmina here this afternoon and it was believed that a state assemblyman from Pahang was among the dead besides a chief executive officer of an aviation company.
Selangor police chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said, eight people were on board the aircraft while the other two were a driver of a car and a motorcyclist.
The aircraft had hit the two vehicles in the crash.
” We believe those involved in the crash involving eight on board and two on the ground were dead.
“However the fire due to the crash was put out in 10 minutes by the Fire and Rescue Department which had rushed to the scene.
“The remains of the dead were being collected by the forensic personnel who will then bring them to the Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang for post mortem examination and identification process,” he said in a press conference at the scene.
Meanwhile, the aircraft operated by Jetvalet Sdn.Bhd had departed from the Langkawi Internatioinal Airport at 2.08pm to the Sultan A dulu Aziz Shah Airport in Subang.
It is said that six passengers and two flight crew were on board.
